Hello everyone, friends!
I present to you the continuation of the modular level in the sci-fi style of the game “Callisto Protocol”. My main goal was to make it as realistic and playable as possible, adding my own creative edits that helped make the level more spectacular, atmospheric and memorable.
The central part of the level design was the “Pumping Station”, which is the basis of this level, externally similar to the original version from the game.
After a detailed study of the level, I determined all the metrics I needed to build a blockout of the entire location. I also thought about how to connect my previous level with the new one in a more interesting way.
At the draft stage, I decided what colors and lighting would be on future location assets.
The modeling was done in a mid-poly pipeline, with the expectation that a nanite mesh would be used. I also used trims and mechanical decals for increased detail of assets.
Since in the project the character was planned from the first person, the texil density turned out to be within the range of 512-1024 pixels per meter.
All props, small and medium assets have a unique layout, large and fairly large architectural objects have a tile layout with 1024 texile.
In the work of level art, the main technology for assembling and optimizing the level was the World Partition system.
The lighting is fully dynamic using Lumen technology. An interesting combination of warm and cold tones.
I added the necessary vfx working.
I also set up a full-fledged sound environment for the location and character, together with my colleague Mikhail
